About the group

The Jersey Hedgehog Preservation Group was started in 1992 primarily to look after underweight autumn juveniles.

But we quickly realised that this would be an all year round job! We now look after about 500 hogs a year and there are always hedgehogs in residence at our two sanctuaries.

We are members of the Association of  Jersey Charities (Membership Number 233) and are licenced under the Animal Welfare (Jersey) Law 2004 as an animal sanctuary and under the Conservation of Wildlife (Jersey) Law 2000.  We are also affiliated to the JSPCA. We are registered with the Jersey Charity Commission Registered Charity No 4.
